Set the logistics up right and communicate and you can leap frog over points so fast your enemy won't be able to reposition fast enough to stop you. Logistics is simple to do just the minimum but if you can spend the time to do it right you can do some really slick maneuvers. You can play the match as primarily logistics concerned SL and run ammo, build, and transport troops around and you wouldn't be holding your team back.
Good pilots are amazing and if I can trust you to not kill my squad I'll take advantage of the mobility every chance I get.

More interested in the tactical side of things like how to take that building your SL just ordered the squad to take? Grab a rifle and ask to become a FTL and make sure to call out targets and be your SL's right hand man. Want to go heavy into the strategy and tactics that go into a winning a match? Put the stripes on and become a Squad Leader. Squad has that perfect balance (imho) of there being enough under the hood to consider that there's a strategy and tactics layer but whether or not you have to worry about it depends entirely up to you. I've played those games (Novalogic, brings me back) and I would consider them more arcadey than Squad. Does it mean I can once again live my best life of transport driver/pilot and ferry entire armies over the course of the game? Or will I have to charge in the center as an infantryman, and rely on my shooting skills to win? Squad has been described as "Battlefield with logistics". Trying to put the squad in a good position while slaloming between AA fire was really just SO fun, even if I did not shoot a single time of the entire game. My favorite part of Joint Operations was that I could play the entire game just being a transport helicopter pilot, ferrying entire squads between our spawn base and the frontline.
If you played it, you probably remember well its 150 players map, massive scale and vehicle warfare. I've given up on FPS multiplayer because the games I find are either too hard simulations that take literally hours to get started (ArmA 3), either arcade games that require me to charge and shoot away (Battlefield and CoD).įor the not-too-young, you might remember the games Delta Force and especially its sequel, Joint Operations.
